Boat Yard in GA May 2008

Date: 15 May 2008

Last weekend we painted the bottom of our boat in a boat yard. It was a hard, dirty job. First we cleaned the bottom with a power wash. Then we hand scraped. After this we dusted the boat off, and wiped it down with alcohol Then we put two coats of bottom paint on. It took us two long days. Joyce (Philip’s mom) and the kids stayed in a hotel. It was a 4 hour boat ride to the boat yard. We very much enjoyed moving the boat.

This is a picture of our boat in the boat yard.

This week we got the Air Conditioning going. It is starting to be hot here. We are currently getting the boat ready to move north. Within a week we hope to go to Cumberland Island for a couple of days. At Cumberland there are wild horses, and plenty of very quiet beaches.

A couple of weeks ago we saw a Manatee here at the dock.

Somehow in my last email I made it sound like Corwin broke his arm. It was his leg. He fell down on a sidewalk about two months ago and is now out of the cast. He is walking quite well.

We will be leaving Jekyll in about two weeks.

All for now.
