Jamestown & Yorktown 2010

Date: 29 June 2010

Well, three weeks ago we were in the Abacos, Bahamas enjoying the heat. Now we are further North and it’s still hot!! We’re plugged into a dock at Oliversons Marina enjoying our AC.

We left the Abacos and journeyed back to Jekyll Island, GA. We spent a week there provisioning with our car, washing the boat and getting ready to head North. In 2 1/2 days we made it from GA to Hampton, VA at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. After almost three years we finally took our kids to see Jamestown and Yorktown.

Jamestown is where our country started out. It was wonderful to see some of our history.

Then we went to Yorktown, which is where the Revolutionary war ended and we gained our Independence from England. It was neat seeing three hundred year old homes.

Now we are off of the Potomac River getting our doctor/dentist appointments done. Next week we hope to be at a boat yard to get some maintenance done on our boat. Then we hope to get out of this heat and head to Maine!!!
